Independent Study Project- ISP

For the spring semester, our TAG students are required to do an independent study project, or ISP. They research a topic deeply across the semester in class and put together a presentation in order to share their information with the class. They work with me to come up with multiple good questions to guide their research, learn about using multiple sources, and how to identify important and interesting facts as they follow their questions and interest in the topic. Students work across the semester on specific tasks each week during Talent Development. Most of this will be done in class, however, some students may elect to do additional work toward their presentation at home.

The district offers an optional student ISP showcase night in the spring. This is an opportunity for parents to come and view TAG student presentations from across the district. These are usually quite impressive (think science fair with tri-fold boards) and Callison students are always encouraged to attend. More info will be sent home as we get into our second semester.
