Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello, students and parents! My name is Kara Faris and I feel honored to be part of your child's learning experience.  I would like to introduce myself and share a bit about me. 

I have always enjoyed working with children, which led me to pursue a career in education. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University. I am certified to teach EC-4, 4-8 Science, Talented and Gifted (TAG), and English as a Second Language (ESL). This will be my seventeenth year teaching and my fifth year at Cactus Ranch. I feel fortunate to be a part of this wonderful school community. 

I strive to create a nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported. I foster a sense of confidence in each child by encouraging their efforts, celebrating their strengths, and providing opportunities to take on new challenges.

I promote a growth mindset and the idea that mistakes are opportunities for learning. I teach the importance of empathy and understanding, encouraging students to consider different perspectives and show kindness towards others.  

In our kindergarten class, we will focus on building a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and critical thinking skills. 

I believe in the importance of a strong partnership between parents and teachers. I value open communication and encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or insights about your child. 

I am truly excited to embark on this journey with your child. Kindergarten is a special time filled with growth, discovery, and possibilities. My daughter, Brynlie, is also entering kindergarten this year. I am thrilled to have her as a part of our kindergarten community and can understand the excitement and anticipation you must feel.
