AVID 6-7-8

About Me:

I teach AVID 6-7-8. I have taught for 19 years at the middle school level. I am married and have a daughter, Madison, who is a 2024 college graduate and a son, Lucas, who is a freshman in college. I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Civil Engineering. I am looking forward to a successful year of learning!

Class overview

• AVID: supplies needed for class (to be left in class) --> tissues and pencils

• supplies brought daily: pencil, Chromebook, charger

• A binder and planner supplied by CTMS is used in AVID and remains in the classroom

• have weekly grade checks and vocabulary warm-ups

• have weekly TRFs: Tutorial Request Forms which are assessment grades

• AVID work is a mixture of paper/pencil and posted in Schoology

• check grades daily and stay current on all assignments

• be a helpful and kind classmate and student
