Advanced Art, including: AP Studio Art : 2D , AP Drawing Course Description
The AP Art and Design program consists of three different courses and AP Portfolio Exams- AP 2D, AP Drawing and AP 3D.These courses correspond to college and university foundations courses. Students create a portfolio of work to demonstrate inquiry through art and design and development of materials, processes, and ideas over the course of a year. Portfolios include works of art and design, process documentation, and written information about the work presented. In May, if students have chosen to submit their portfolios, their portfolios will be submitted for evaluation based on specific criteria, which include skillful synthesis of materials, processes, and ideas and sustained investigation through practice, experimentation, and revision, guided by questions.
AP Art and Design courses address the following learning outcomes:
Conduct a sustained investigation (also known as Concentration) through practice, experimentation, and revision, guided by questions
Skillfully synthesize materials, processes, and ideas
Articulate in writing information about their work and processes
See below for additional course related materials, including detailed information on the 2 portfolio sections- Sustained Investigation, and Selected works.
If a student misses class, they need to check the Schoology Updates for the day they missed, and email miles_bowen@roundrockisd.org to get information on necessary make-up work.
