Howdy! My name is Andrea Plowman and this is my 31st year of loving what I do and my 12th year at Blackland Prairie. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have a minor in geography, so I might project my passion for maps, cultures, and the world around us to your child. It might make it home to you in a "Did you know...?" kind of fact sharing from your child. I will probably be evident when you enter my classroom that I am a big fan of Garfield the cat.
I enjoy gardening and have now mastered keeping succulents and orchids alive. I also like to figure out how to DIY just about anything. My only issue is I like to plan, plan, and plan some more. I'm sure this is my quirky way of enjoying the process as much as the finished project.
My daughter is a sophomore at Texas A&M. She lived on campus last year so not exactly a normal freshman year experience. She's excited to live in an apartment this year and be a little more independent. She's a huge fan of NCAA sports, so she's definitely in the right place!
I also love to watch sports of any kind, especially any involving my beloved Aggies. Whoop! I'm hoping to attend a few football games this fall. I also enjoy fishing with my dad. We usually go on a deep sea trip to Port Aransas in the fall. We'll see!
I'm excited to begin this year and my first priority is to ensure your child feels comfortable, valued, and loved. Our learning an academics will follow. I'm really looking forward to a great year working with your child at Blackland Prairie Elementary!

This hotel in Bartlesville, OK was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was so neat to stay here!
