Clewner's Classroom

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

A little bit of information about myself...

I have taught in Humble I.S.D, Austin I.S.D, and Round Rock I.S.D. I received a Bachelors of Science in Education and Bachelors of Arts in Literature from Oklahoma State University.  I completed my master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership. This will be my 15th year of teaching and I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade English Language Arts as well as an elective writing class for mixed high school grade levels.

I welcomed a new addition to my family in July of 2019 and May of 2021. We are very busy at home with our son and daughter and could not feel luckier.

Letter to my students: My mission is to help you as a student achieve personal growth as a thinker, writer, reader, and organizer. I would like to instill the foundation of strong writing skills, literary analysis, revising and editing, and critical thinking skills. This foundation will allow you to be successful in your other academic classes as well.

We will be using google classroom as our learning platform. All of the materials for the class as well as test and quizzes will be posted in google classroom. The agenda for the day is listed on the slides in google classroom.

Grades will be posted on Home Access.

Required Novels for 6th Grade

My Life in Dog Years and Tiger Rising, Additional titles will be released as final decisions are made.

We ask that each student will have their own copy of the text. Owning a personal copy will enable students to take notes in the book and use the notes for quizzes/tests. Half Price Books, Amazon, and Book People should all have copies available. It is not required that they be purchased.
