Ms. (Ashley) Fletcher
Hello! I am so grateful to have you in my class for 6th Grade Math! We are going to have a fun year learning :) I love teaching and math! I enjoy when everyone is involved in math games and activities!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and
have been teaching math for 8 years. Previously, I have taught: Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, along with TSI Camp and tutoring Calculus. Did I mention I love math :D
In my free time, I enjoy weight lifting, walking my dogs, attending sports games, gaming on my PC that I built, and pretty much anything dealing with being outside in nature and family.
Let's have a great year~*~*
My Children!
From top to bottom there is Papi (RIP), Zeke, and Sky. My fiance and I enjoy taking care of them with training and exercise - a healthy lifestyle! We love taking them swimming, too!
Us!
This is my fiance, Mr. Reininger, and he is a PE Assistant looking to find a permanent position in coaching or training athletes! He earned his Master's from Lamar University while coaching the football team there. We are a great 'team' and though we have no children, for now, our students brighten up our life ^_^
Daily Agenda: (linked, click on them)
** Agenda is subject to change**
On Level 6th Period
Accel 1st, 2nd, 5th, 8th Period
Grading Policy:
10% homework
30% quizzes (2-3 per 9-weeks)
60% tests (2-3 per 9-weeks)
All students will make test corrections to every test, regardless of the grade earned.
If a student receives a grade less than 70% on any assessment they need to:
-correct their original assessment
-corrections for a maximum grade of 70%
-tutorials are recommended but not required
Checking on Grades:
To see the most updated grade, please check Home Access Center. I would recommend you check grades with your child once a week. Pick a day that is good for you. In our house Friday is good. It helps dictate what they can do on the weekend. I would also recommend you set alerts in HAC so you receive a text or email telling you when something has gone wrong.
Make Up Work/Late Work:
If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to get the work that was missed. This is now found in their Schoology folder marked by date. Click HERE to Log in to Schoology.
He/she will have the same number of days they were gone to turn in the makeup work. If they miss an assessment, they will be expected to take it when all their makeup work is due.
If your student fails to turn in an assignment on time, there will be a 10 point penalty for turning it in 1 day late. After that, there will be an additional 5 points taken off for each day.
Journal Videos:
This journal is an online version of the one we will make in class. It includes links to the actual documents, video of me teaching the lessons, and a picture of the completed journal page. Enjoy this fantastic resource!
Note: If you are viewing this on a Chromebook, click the left right arrow buttons to navigate through all the pages.
