Rosetown saves many costumes from previous shows, and thus we can use some of this stock to costume folks in the show. DeAnn, our costumer, will also make costumes that are necessary and unique to this show (e.g., frogs). However, there are sometimes some base pieces (many of which you likely already have!) that work best if that cast member themselves provides it. See below for information on the costume pieces you need to provide.
Costumes pieces are subject to approval by DeAnn. All costume pieces will need to be ready to go by December 1.
SHOES: Make sure you have stage shoes…this can be a dress shoe, granny boot, mary jane, ballet slipper, or jazz shoe…..socks should be plain either a knee sock or a shorter crew in white or cream… no modern prints or logos etc.
HAIR: Adult female characters with long hair should wear a low bun. Kid female characters with long hair should wear braids, two side ponies or front up back down …..putting ribbon bows over to secure is encouraged…
BE SUPER DUPER ORGANIZED….ALL COSTUME PIECES SUPPLIED BY ROSETOWN are labeled as are the hangers and bags they are in….TONS OF PIECES !!! EVERY thing must be put back just as you found it
Shirts: If you are asked to supply a top your top should look old fashioned… no knits (stretchy fabric). The easiest shirt would be a button-up but you could also bring in a peasant blouse (not too modern) or a Victorian blouse.
These cast members need to supply a top…a reminder of your skirt or pinafore is in parentheses ().
Niko: button –up shirt and dress pants
Jack M and Cadence: dark dress pants—navy or black
From DeAnn, our costumer: Costume fittings will begin soon at rehearsals. This is an early look (more info will come later).
ALL CAST: You will need appropriate shoes. This could be dance shoes, granny boots, dress shoes, maryjanes, or ballet flats.
Ghosts & Ghoulies and Frogs: You will need to bring in a plain black top and bottom we will be adding overlays and headpieces to create these characters.
Pirates: Your pirate pieces will be supplied.
Mr. Douglas (Leo), Bailiff York (Jack), and Officer Hornblower (Cadence): Please bring in black dress pants and a button down shirt
Boy Characters: You will need to supply a button down shirt and dress pants, overalls or knickers
Girl Characters: Skirts, pinafores, or dresses will be supplied ….I will be asking some cast to bring in button ups or blouses I will tell you at your fitting and send out a list later.
