District/School Distance Learning Updates

RSD Distance Learning Packets by School

RSD Distance Learning Program

Dear Roseland Parents and Guardians,

School closures cause an interruption to the continuity of student learning. This website is meant as a resource for you and your child(ren) while schools are closed. It is very important for children to read and practice math skills daily in order for learning to continue, and we know parents want resources to help at home. Children should read at least 30 minutes a day and spend time practicing math skills regularly as well. None of this work will be graded or affect report cards.

Lastly is is the recommendation of RSD that when students are using internet at home it is done in public area of the house and that you discuss expectations with your child of their behavior online. Common Sense Media is a recommended resource to guide this conversation.

Getting Started With Google Chrome

As you know, RSD uses Google Apps for Education (G Suite) for email, creating web documents, etc. A huge part of what makes everything convenient is using the Google Chrome browser for work. When you sign in to the Chrome browser, you can save and sync things like your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings to your Google Account, so you can get to them on any device. Note that if you are using a Chromebook, you don't need to download Chrome or sign in again since logging into the Chromebook automatically signs you into Chrome and the G Suite.

Remember to sign into Chrome from trusted devices. To keep your data safe, we recommended you don't sign in if you're on a public computer.

Download Google Chrome for PC or Mac

Steps to sign in to Chrome

To sign in to Chrome follow these steps:

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. In the top right, click the button with your name or the little person icon.

  3. Click Sign in to Chrome.

  4. Sign in with your Google Account.

  5. To customize your sync settings, click More >Settings>Advanced sync settings. You can choose what information to share across other devices where you're signed in to Chrome.

Note: If you've already created a sync passphrase to protect your data, you'll need to provide the passphrase when you sign in. If you forget your passphrase, you'll need to reset sync.
