A little wheeling and dealing at the crossroads, a quick slap to an upright bass and a smokin’ beat. Add to the mix the guitar chops of Elvis Suissa and Three Bad Jacks music comes in to stretch the borders of rock. Three Bad Jacks are the bastard sons of rock and roll greats like Elvis Presley, Joe Strummer, Johnny Cash and Joey Ramone. This full throttle trio fuses the best parts of rock, punk and rockabilly into a unique sound that defies any label or category.
The Rocketz hail from Los Angeles, CA and blend rockabilly with rock and roll, their sound uniquely identified by the fluid, Gretsch guitar tones and throaty, grainy vocals of front man, Tony “Slash” Red-Horse. Always animated, always passionate, Tony guides the audience on a rollercoaster of emotions about life, love and heartbreak. This power trio sometimes morphs into a four-piece adding either a 2nd guitarist or a sax player or you might be lucky enough to catch the show where he spots a fellow artist in the crowd and simply hands his Gretsch off and proceeds to free style with the band. This is rock and roll at its best! The Rocketz are sustained by the live performance that their studio recordings do not, can not capture. Their magic is personal and intimate and sometimes, tastefully desperate! Follow The Rocketz on any of your favorite social media platforms.
Tony is endorsed by Gretsch guitars and was a featured artist on Gretsch. He began his musical journey in 1987 as an upright bass / lead vocal for the L.A. based, alternative – rockabilly trio, The Saddle Sores. He is also the founder of one of L.A.’s earliest psychobilly bands, Terror Train, where he began his guitar journey in 1989. As a bassist, he has played with many bands an artists including but not limited to: Trailer Park Casanovas, Johnny Legend, Johnny Carroll, Rudy Dolemite, Tim Polecat, Elvez, Johnny Powers, Robert Gordon, Three Bad Jacks, The Moonlight Trio and many more!
