Every month I give out 2 Golden Shoe awards. One class will receive a Golden Shoe in grades kindergarten-2nd grade and the other Golden Shoe award will be given to a grades 3rd-5th grade. There are 2 components that play a part into getting the Golden Shoe. When students walk into the gym one of the first things, I look at is their shoes. I need to ensure that all students are wearing the proper shoes so they can stay safe. If all students are wearing PE shoes the class receives a star. If there are students who are not wearing PE shoes, I count the number of students and place that number by the class. I also make a note of who has not worn PE shoes to see if there is a pattern. When the PE class is over, I rate the class on their PACE, 5 being the highest pace a class can receive, and 0 being the lowest. At the end of the month I add up the classes PACE and PE shoe score. I then divide that score by the number of days I had them in PE for the month and that comes out to an average score. The class that has the highest overall score wins the Golden Shoe.
