The Nexus for Faculty Success seeks to enhance learning and teaching across the university by deepening awareness and building capacity around inclusive teaching practices (including course design and curriculum mapping, teaching methods and activities, and equitable assessment), that will allow our students thrive and succeed, at the course, program, and school/college levels. We encourage educators to adopt constructive, evidence-based and learning-focused approaches to teaching, which allow students to look for patterns and connections, draw on their prior knowledge experience, collaborate with others, and make meaning and understanding for themselves. We seek to build capacity in our faculty to intentionally create learning environments with equity and inclusion in mind, to take risks and be innovative, to model ongoing self-reflection, and to mentor their peers around reflective and inclusive teaching.
