Classroom Procedures

Pick up/ Drop Off: Our school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students can be dropped off anytime after 7:15 a.m. Dismissal will be at 2:10 p.m. After School Care will be available until 5:30 p.m. If your child will be late, absent or changing transportation plans, please contact the school office.

Snacks: There will be a short snack break in the morning. Students who would like a snack, can bring a nutritional snack from home. (Crackers, goldfish, granola bars, etc.)

Water bottles: Water bottles are optional. If students bring a water bottle, please make sure it is one with a closed lid to prevent spilling.

Birthdays & Holiday parties: If your child would like to bring in a special treat, please feel free to do so! Children who have summer birthdays may choose to celebrate on their half birthday. Please do not bring birthday invitations to school unless the entire class will be invited.

Lunch: Students will receive a hot lunch provided by Steak Shop Catering, unless they bring a cold lunch from home. Please note that lunches from home can not be heated up at school.

Instruction: Students will participate in learning rotations for reading and math. This allows for each grade level to have a scheduled time to meet with the teacher and receive individualized instruction. 2nd graders will receive their core instruction from Mr. R. All other subjects will be taught as whole-group instruction.

Homework: We ask that students read each night for 15-20 min. Students may have assignments that need to be completed at home. Homework will not be graded but used as an opportunity for additional practice. Any work that needs to be completed will be in their Take Home Folder. Please help your child by checking this folder every night for homework or informational handouts.

Library: Students will have 1 day a week to check out books from the library. Students can only have 2 books checked out at a time. Families will be charged for books that are damaged or lost.
