There are a number of reasons why young people feel a gap year will be useful, these can include wanting an adventure and heading off for an OE, unsure of what to study so taking time out to be sure, or to work and save money to help pay for further education. Whatever your reasons be sure that you know your options......
Some first-year scholarships require you to apply in advance of any gap period taken. If you are successful, you may be permitted to delay (defer) the scholarship until you start your studies. Other scholarships require you to apply during the gap period.
Scholarships details, including value, may change from year to year and are related to the year that the you want to begin your studies. In some cases, scholarships are restricted to school leavers moving directly on to university study. This means gap students are ineligible.

Kiwis are extremely popular and very sought after by Camps. We have often grown up around water and know how to swim, water-ski, sail, and jet-ski, not to mention all that tramping and camping we do as we grow up. It's part of our culture and it comes naturally to a lot of us - so we don't think twice about doing it at camp!
