Presentations

  1. Use a storyboard to plan out your video and write a script or some dot points to detail what you want to say and when. You only have 90 seconds.

  2. Prioritise the key points of your Design and the process you used/or intend to use. This is a 90 second “Shark Tank” pitch.

  3. Select a suitable location – Ensure there is adequate lighting so that your face can be seen. Be wary of background noise. Featuring only 1 team member is OK. But, all team members must contribute to the final production.

  4. Tweak the composition – try to frame the camera angle to ensure you have an eye-level shot of your head and shoulders in the frame. You may need to elevate the Chromebook/Laptop/iPad.

  5. Speak well – Practice your script and use as many takes as you need to get your message across clearly.

  6. Smile – Deliver your script with passion and purpose as if you are presenting to an actual person.

  7. Test your video – Show your video to your teacher or a parent for some honest feedback. Is there anything that you could do to improve it? If you decide to redo your video, the old video can be deleted from Flipgrid.

  8. You can use record desktop to show clearly and digital artefacts that will contribute to your presentation and embed a webcam.

  9. Please make sure any students appearing in the video have Media permissions.

Have you talked about?

• Big Question — What were you trying to find out? Why? Adress the "So what?" question.

• Hypothesis — An “I Think Statement.” What did you predict would happen? What actually happened?

• Procedures — What steps did you take to run your tests? Were they repeatable?

• Data — What photos, charts, and/or graphs did you include to show your results? Show the graphs - explain the findings.

• Big Discovery — What actually happened? Explain your results. What impact will this have on other's lives?

• Conclusion — “Now What?” What did you learn? What would you do differently?
