Instructions for Diploma results and retake exams (November 2024, May 2025 and November 2025)
The May 2024 results are available on 6th of July at 3pm in Finnish time zone in the May examination session. The November examinations session results launch takes place on 2nd of January (in Finnish time zone) at 3pm. A candidate needs to know his/her IBIS’s login and password. If a candidate doesn’t remember these, please send an email to IB-coordinator as soon as possible. Candidate’s personal score breakdown will be generated by the coordinator (provided it is published by the IBO). These will be found in the candidate’s personal Google Drive folder. If a candidate doesn't have access to Google Drive, please send an email to IB-coordinator. Score breakdown shows the component marks: exams papers and IA separately.
If a candidate feels that he/she has not been treated fairly by the IBO in the marking process, it is possible to make an Enquiry upon results (EUR) for the IBO. In this case, please contact the IB-coordinator at least by the end of August (or by the end of January if you have done exams in the November examinations). Look at the table below in which it is explained a candidate must pay if he/she wants to make Enquiry upon results.
A candidate must Inform the IB-coordinator if he/she wants to retake any subjects by 19th July (in the May examination session). Please indicate if you want to do again the IA as well or use the May2024 IA mark schemes (see score breakdown), Deadline for externally assessed components (EE, TOK essay, Language A HL-essay and VIA’s Comparative Study) is 9.9.2024 and for IAs 10.10.2024.
A candidate mustInform the IB-coordinator if a candidate wants to retake any by 19th December (in the November examination session) if he/she wants to retake his/her subject/subjects in the MAY2025 examination session. Please indicate if you want to do the IA as well or use the May2024 IA mark schemes (see score breakdown). Candidates must remember that in the Group 4 (Science) syllabus have been changed and the exams will be organized in May 2025. This means that a candidate can’t bring his/her points from his/her IA’s to the May 2025 examination session. A candidate must complete a new IA with Science if a candidate wants to retake Group 4 subjects in the May examination session. Deadline for externally assessed components (EE, TOK essay, Language A HL-essay and VIA’s Comparative Study) is 9.2.2025 and for IAs 1.3.2025.
If a candidate wants to retake a subject/subjects for any reason, it can be done in the retake session the following November or in any future examination session, either in May or November.
IB-coordinator must be informed on participation in a retake session through email by 19th July at the latest (for November examination session) or by 19th January at latest (for May examination session).
Candidate registration deadline
The deadline for registration of all candidates for DP assessments is 15 November/15 May. Registrations after this date will be subject to increased fees.
In an exceptional situation, where a coordinator may need to register a candidate for a forthcoming session outside the normal registration parameters, registrations and changes to existing registrations may be accepted after the late registration period (after 15 January/15 July). Use of the emergency facility for such registrations or changes incur higher additional fees.
Candidates retaking a subject or subjects six months after their last session will need to be registered by 29 January/29 July.
The deadlines and fees referred to all candidates who are registered to retake at least one year after their last examination session.
Scales of fees for foreign students/retake candidates
If you don’t have a municipality membership, you must pay your examination fees the first time of the examination session. Registration fee is 85 euros per subject. It must be paid by 15th November to Lyseonpuiston lukio IB account FI 11 5640 0220 1332 55. Write reference “Candidate name and MAY2024.
