Born and raised in Chicagoland, received a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, felt like a robot zombie working with circuits and coding so I jumped into the Solar Coaster. Became a licensed electrician in multiple states, networked and mentored with many professionals all while maintaining curiosity, passion and professionalism in the Solar industry. Took on many roles, often at the same time, such as Foreman, Project Manager, Lead Electrician, Operations Manager, System Design Engineer, QA/QC, Inspector, Mentor and O&M (Operations and Maintenance)
I rode the Solar Coaster for 8 years (Rise and fall of Solar companies and demand) before pioneering a role to travel USA full time living in a self-converted Sprinter Van while inspecting, testing and repairing Solar Energy systems from Coast to Coast. The journeys, experiences and nearly 2 years of living as a Professional Solar & Electrical Nomad landed me in Oregon.
As luck, silver linings and maybe fate would have it, love and life just fell into place in Southern Oregon. Plus, having hobbies such as mountain biking, snowboarding, fishing, camping and exploring made it easy. Took the leap of faith at the crossroads of passion, preparation and opportunity!
It felt like home, so it became home.
Learning from the success and failures of others, self-reflection, manufacturer trainings, independent engineering, fire investigations, deep diving into complex issues, creating and contributing to white papers, IEEE teachings and technical documents, courses and lectures pertaining to power electronics, electrical distribution, solar energy, safety, health, environment, the list goes on...
Always Learning, Always Practicing.
