In an era of shifting state standards and evolving A–F rating systems, teacher leaders play a critical role in bridging the gap between high-level accountability data and daily classroom practice. This course, grounded in the lead4ward framework, empowers teacher leaders to move beyond data and into actionable leadership. Participants will learn how to demystify the complexities of state accountability and move into high-impact instructional strategies that drive student growth.
Effective instruction cannot happen without a stable, predictable, and supportive environment. This professional learning session introduces the Waymaker Classroom Foundations, a comprehensive framework designed to move beyond traditional "discipline" and toward a culture of mutual respect and high expectations. Participants will explore the essential structures that transform a room full of students into a cohesive learning community.
Why do some students dive into challenges while others disengage at the first sign of struggle? Based on the evidence-based frameworks in Staci Zolkoski’s Motivated to Learn, this session moves beyond simple "carrots and sticks" to explore the science of student engagement. We will dive into how educators can foster internal drive by addressing students' core psychological needs with seven evidence-based and easy to implement strategies to address challenging behaviors.
