MEET THE TEACHER!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Nicole Shears! This is my twelfth year teaching Third grade at Stony Brook Elementary School.

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Centenary College.  After attending Centenary College, I continued my education at the College of Saint Elizabeth, earning a Master's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education.  I graduated Cum Laude from both colleges and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education.

When I am not teaching in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a beautiful daughter Brooke, who is about to turn seven and will be in Second grade this year.  Brooke enjoys gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading. My son Kevin is four.  Kevin loves to explore and work with tools to "fix" anything he can. Brooke and Kevin are inseparable! It has been a very exciting year, watching them both grow, learn new things, and develop. They are the light of my life and they also keep me very, very busy!

Over the summer, my family and I spent time with family and friends, visited Long Beach Island, went to the Land of Make Believe, Wild West City, Jellystone Campground, and spent many days on the farm and at the lake! Over the summer, Brooke and Kevin learned how to swim independently and ride their Stacycs (electric-throttle bikes).  Kevin learned how to hammer nails into wood, use a screw driver and wrench, split wood, and ride a bicycle!

I also have a dog named Rosie!  I adopted her 14 years ago!Â
