Mrs. Santiago is the current 6th grade school sounelor at CMS. She graduated from Rutgers and went on to get her Master's degree in counseling with a specialization in school counseling from Caldwell University. Mrs. Santiago has previously worked as a school counselor at both the elementary and middle school level, although she believes her passion remains working with middle school aged students. There are many reasons she enjoys working with this population, but the main reason is being given the opportunity to be a support for students as they transition from pre-teen to adolescence. She is a big proponent in promoting self-advocacy skills in her students as well as supporting her students towards an overall positive social and emotional well-being. When Mrs. Santiago is not at CMS, you will find her spending time with her family, friends and fur baby; Gunner, reading a mystery book, and when it's warm, spending time at the beach!
