Welcome first grade students and parents!! My name is Mrs. Jill Lampmann and I will be your teacher. I'm super excited to meet all of you and to get started learning so many new and exciting things in first grade.
Here is a little bit about me so you can get to know me better before we even meet. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. I also received my Masters in Special Education and earned my Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification from William Patterson University. I grew up in West Orange, NJ, and ended up student teaching in Rockaway. If you can imagine, I student taught at Dwyer School in a first grade classroom, which 11 years later, become my very own classroom. I began my teaching career teaching 2nd grade at DBO School. My husband and I bought a house in the Birchwood section of Rockaway and lived there for 13 years. After teaching at DBO for about seven years, I was moved to teach 3rd grade at Birchwood. I loved the three years that I spent teaching at Birchwood, but since my children would be attending school there, I was moved to Dwyer School. Ever since I started teaching first grade at Dwyer 11 years ago, it has felt like home for me. I can't imagine teaching anywhere else because Dwyer is my school family!!
I've been married for 18 years to my husband Rich and Rockaway has been our home since we were married. We have two handsome, smart, and amazing boys. RJ, my older son, is 15 and is a sophomore at Morris Hills High School. Tyler, my younger son, is 11 and is in 6th grade at Copeland. They both love to play baseball so I'm sure at some point we will see you around town on a baseball field. We love spending time at the beach, especially Ocean City, NJ and spending time with our extended large families.
This is going to be an awesome year! Thank you for all of your help, cooperation, and patience as we navigate this crazy world we are living in. :)
