RUSD Library Mission Statement

The  mission of the Rocklin Unified Library Media Centers is to foster the love of reading for pleasure and information by connecting our students, faculty, and administration with the resources, technology, and critical thinking skills they need.  We will enrich lives by maintaining  a nurturing, safe, fun, and inviting environment and strive to meet the needs and have resources that represent all students and families.  We will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to inspire learning and ensure that we have adequate resources to become 21st century learners.

Library Websites (K-12)

Each site in the district has a library website . You can find it by going to your school's website

Follett Destiny Discover (K-12)

In your school’s online library catalog, select Destiny Discover from the menu on the upper left side of the page. On the Destiny Discover site enter search term(s) in the search box, or browse using the digital search.

SORA  eBooks & Audiobooks (K-12)

These are available to all RUSD students. Click here for directions.

 Sign in with your  rocklinusd.org email! You can also download the Sora app, available for free in your device's marketplace.

TeachingBooks.net (K-12)

This is a comprehensive database of literature for K-12 students.  It gathers many resources about books together in one place.  Teachers may create an account by entering their school email, and students/families may access the information without an account.


Scholastic TrueFlix (Elementary)

Interactive eBook and video resource. Learn about hundreds of topics in a fun way!

Britannica Encyclopedia (K-12)

Digital encyclopedia with articles, images, and videos relating to different interesting topics. Also includes access to Britannica Learning Zone; a resource for students in Prek-2nd grades.

ProQuest Resources (K-12)

ProQuest 

Access all your ProQuest databases, like Research Library, Historical Newspapers, and more.

ProQuest Research Companion 

Information literacy product, created to help young researchers find, evaluate, and use information more effectively. Nine multi-media based learning modules and seven interactive tools.

eLibrary 

Offers more than 2,000 full-text sources, with improved functionality, and a fun and easy-to-use search interface. Includes magazines, newspapers, books, television/radio transcripts, maps, pictures, and audio/video clips.

CultureGrams 

Links students to country reports that go beyond mere facts and figures to deliver a one-of-a-kind perspective on daily life and culture. In-depth reports covering 200+ countries, the United States, and Canada

SIRS Discoverer 

General reference resource for young researchers that makes learning fun and intuitive. Helps students in grades 1-9 develop their research, writing, language and computer skills.

SIRS Knowledge Source 

A comprehensive portal offering centralized access to all SIRS products which target the needs of students with best-of content selected to support research, study, and homework in key curricula subjects.


EBSCO (7-12)

Online database with access to Explora, History Reference Center, Points of View, and Science Reference Center.  Go to your school to log in and see username and password.


GALE (High School)

Online resource with access to digital copies of textbooks and reference materials.
