National History Day enables students to conduct thorough research, analyze its significance in history, and to synthesize that information into a final presentation. Although it is a challenging process for students, the skills taught strictly adhere to the Common Core Standards. More importantly, NHD develops strong, engaging historical inquiry for participating students and promotes increased knowledge about their community, country, and world. Informed and engaged students will become informed and engaged citizens.
The current state coordinators are Craig Irish (cirish@scoe.net) and Whitney Olson (whitneyolson62@gmail.com).
