Library Passes
TEACHER APPROVES. The student (or teacher) can make a pass to the Library (passes to Danae Delozier have been disabled). Once you approve the pass, the library will click “Arrived” and either “End/Cancel” if the student is staying, or “Return” if you should expect the student back. We ask YOU to approve passes because we have students who try to circumvent their teachers and come to the library without their permission.
Library Availability: If students can make a pass, you can assume the library is accepting students to come check out books and/or work.
Library Closed?: If the library is closed or unavailable for any reason, the library will have an “Out of Office” message, and students will be unable to make a pass.
Sub Passes: If there is a sub in the room, the library will not accept passes from substitues to send students to work in the library. If you know you are going to be out and would like your students to come to the library, send an email about it.
6 Pass Limit: To help control how many passes we handle at a time, we have a pass limit set for the library. If a student tries making a pass and a message appears that we are at our queue limit, they should try again in a few minutes. We end passes as soon as students sign in who are planning to stay in the library.
TrailblazerTime Passes: The library WILL NOT accept passes during Advisory/Club on Mondays. We will operate the same as a normal pass for the remainder of TT. Only students with an approved e-hall pass from their teacher will be permitted to come to the library during TT. We get VERY busy during this time, so please help us by respecting the 6 passes-at-a-time limit we have set. Again, if a student cannot make a pass...do not send them; ask them to wait until a space opens up.
Lunch Passes: Students will receive a blue keychain lunch pass they can show administrators/lunch monitors to come eat lunch in the library. Students cannot share their lunch passes, and they have specific guidelines for the expected behavior to maintain their privileges. Passes will be assigned on a first-come basis unless otherwise assigned by an administrator.
Copying and Laminating
Amanda Haney is our dedicated copy clerk
Copying: Copy request forms and drop offs are located outside the copy room in the library as well as across from the mailboxes in the main office. Please do not email copy requests. All copies have a 24-turnaround time and can be picked up outside the copy room. (During testing, we will often place copies in mailboxes.)
Laminating: Laminating request forms and drop offs are on the bottom of the cart outside the copy room. For larger items, a separate cart is available for drop off down that hall outside the AV room. Laminating will occur at 10am on Wednesday, so please drop off laminating requests before 9am. Items should be smaller than poster-board size. We cannot laminate glued or painted items.
Testing and Availability: During SOL Testing, we will be unable to make copies. All copies will be made before or after school. Please do not enter SOL Testing rooms to drop off copy requests.
