LAA - LAA Reporting

Similar to end-of-course SOL test results, the Virginia Department of Education requires school divisions to communicate student performance on Local Alternative Assessments (LAAs) to parents and guardians. In order to expedite this process for teachers, Rockingham County Public Schools has developed a program within inSight that will generate a final report for each student who is administered a Local Alternative Assessment (LAA). These LAA grade reports are to be included in student report card envelopes that are sent home at the end of the year.

1) Log into PowerSchool and click on the inSight link in the "Navigation" section on the left.

2) Choose "LAA" from the InSight menu on the left.

3) Click on "Courses / Sections," select your class from the dropdown menu that appears, and then click "Get Students."

4) Click on one of the student names that you have LAA performance data for from the list that appears on the right.

5) Click "New" and select the correct school year and subject area.

6) If you administer multiple LAAs, use the grading matrix below in order to determine the single, cumulative score.

7) Click on the "Score" drop-down menu and select the overall LAA score (Pass Advanced, Pass Proficient, Did Not Meet, or Did Not Attempt).

8) Add a comment and click "save" in the lower right-hand side of the screen.

9) Repeat steps 1-8 until all LAA scores have been submitted.
