New Student Registration Information 2025 - 2026

New students to Elkton Middle School will register online for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Please follow the instructions below:
Go to www.rcps.net
At the top right corner of the screen, there is a tab labeled ‘Online Registration’
Follow the instructions for online registration for the 2025 - 2026 School Year.
Once you’ve registered online, please contact the school at (540) 298-1228 to arrange a time to complete the registration process.
In addition to registering online, we will need the following documents:
Proof of address in the parent or guardian’s name - 1 of the following is required:
Rental/Purchase agreement for a house/apartment within your school’s attendance area.
Recent utility bill (electric, gas, water, etc) with your name and address. Note: This can not be a cell phone bill.
Current car insurance or property insurance policy with your name and address listed.
Automobile registration form with current name and address listed.
Recent income tax W2 form or property tax statement with current name and address listed.
Immunization record- proof of immunizations is required before a student may be enrolled.
Students entering grade 7 or higher must have proof that they received the following:
Diphtheria, Tetanus, & Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, or Tdap)
Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) Vaccine
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine - Effective July 1, 2021, a complete series of 2 doses of HPV vaccine is required for students entering the 7th grade. The first dose shall be administered before the child enters the 7th grade. After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parent's or guardian's sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
Original birth certificate- Parents/Guardians must present the original or a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate. For more information about obtaining a certified birth certificate, visit the following website: http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/vital-records/.
If any of the following situations apply to your family, we will also need -
Copies of any legal documents or custody paperwork
If your child would like to play sports at EMS, they will need a VHSL physical.
