• May 20, Thursday: --Library books are due

• May 24, Monday - 3rd grade math SOL test

• May 27 Thursday-- Mrs. Fox's class: Field trip to JMU arboretum (morning + lunch)

• May 28 Friday-- Mr. Judd's class: Field trip to JMU arboretum (morning + lunch)

• June 10-- will be a full school day for students.

Welcome back four days!

• Spring Pictures reminder -Please send in payment for Spring pictures or return the pictures that are not being purchased.

• May SOL Testing: The 3rd grade reading SOL test will be on Tuesday, May 18th. The 3rd grade math SOL test will be on Monday, May 24th. Please mark these dates on your calendar. (The cut score for proficiency on these tests has been lowered from 400-350.) We DO NOT want to put any extra stress or anxiety on our students or families because of these tests. The simplest way you can help is to make sure your child is well-rested and present for school on the day he/she is to take the test.

• Library Books: ALL library books will have to be returned by May 20th.

• Units of Studies:

In Science, we will be learning about the importance of soil.

In Math we are learning to count money and make change form $5.00 Please empty your pocket every day so your child can practice counting change.

Please remember to make sure your child reads everyday for 20-30 minutes. It is very helpful for your child to discuss with you what she/he is reading about.
