What We're Learning
It is always helpful to know what your child is learning in class, so you can help to review and to reinforce the material at home. Thanks for helping to support your child's education!
Reading: This week, we will finish the final components of the VALLSS literacy screener. We will also work to review various reading skills this week in order to prepare for the Reading SOL test the following week.
Math: We will continue our unit on fractions this week. We will review the different ways to name fractions. We will also work on comparing and ordering fractions, finding equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, and learning about mixed numbers.
Science: We'll begin learning about the water cycle. We'll learn about the parts of the water cycle, why the water cycle is important, and ways to conserve water.
Social Studies: We will continue our unit on Ancient Rome. We will review Roman architecture this week. We will also learn about daily life in Rome and the government of ancient Rome.
In OUR Classroom:
We are a team!
We respect each other!
We are kind humans!
We persevere!
We try our best!
We make mistakes!
We celebrate each other's successes!
