This course builds on the concepts of Algebra 2 and Geometry in preparation for the standard-level IB Applications and Interpretation examination at the end of Math Studies. This course is designed to be a gateway course into higher order mathematics. Applications and Interpretation leads students on a journey through a core of algebra, statistics, financial math applications, logic, probability, geometry, basic trigonometry, and an intro to calculus. Students will then produce a project or essay involving higher order mathematics that will be based on the student’s own interests. Outcomes: Mastery of the topics in the course description and the standards required by the State of Minnesota. Assessments: Tests, quizzes, homework, standard-level IB Applications & Interpretation IA.
