School Buildings may experience staff shortages that have not been experienced in years past. Multiple staff members in one building may not be able to attend school from sickness and contact tracing requirements. The district will do everything possible to operate in the current model. We recognize that staff are critical workers and education of our students is important. Buildings may switch to hybrid learning models or close for a period of time.

Online learning is an option when there is a staff shortage for grade levels, not an entire building.

Online learning for entire buildings or district wide is not an option when a staff shortage is the prevailing criteria. Staff shortages is not a criteria for a building to go into online learning currently. The primary criteria to apply for online learning from the Iowa Department of Education are

• The 14 day positivity rate f the count
