Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Grimm and I am a new teacher in the CTE Department at Rockbridge County High School. What is CTE? Career and Technical Education. CTE prepares our students for their future. Not only for life after high school, but a wide range of careers as well. I am located on the T-hallway within the school in Room T1.
This year, I will be teaching three different courses: Va Teachers for Tomorrow, Freshman Academy, and Economics & Personal Finance. As you can see, I have created a page describing each of those here. I will also be working with two of the school's CTSO's (Career & Technical Student Organizations): FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) . While these are inter-curricular, affiliation is NOT required. However, I have included links to those pages for those of you who would like more information on becoming a member.
I am a Rockbridge County High School alum. So, I am very excited to be back here as a teacher. Upon graduation, I attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College where I attained an Associates degree in Business Administration. From there, I transferred to Radford University where I completed a Bachelors degree in Business Management. Since then, I worked in both retail and property management.
After becoming a mother, I decided to pursue my passion for education and go into the Career Switcher program. I have earned both my teaching license and a Master's Degree in Education from Regent University. I am endorsed in both Business & Information Technology as well as Family & Consumer Sciences. I absolutely love both of these areas and couldn't be happier teaching!
Here at RCHS, we strive to prepare our business students for their future careers. We hope to provide them with opportunities to make a positive impact on their community and gain leadership skills as well. FBLA members can develop essential soft skills by holding chapter officer positions at the local, state, and national levels; by networking with accomplished business professionals; and by participating in business-focused workshops, seminars, and academic competitions at leadership conferences.
FCCLA is an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum. Members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. Through participation in Competitive Events, FCCLA members gain employable skills and industry insight needed to thrive in the 21st Century.
