I strive to be an inspirational teacher each day.......

I seek to be a caring professional who keeps in mind the special experiences of learning with my students. I am sensitive to the fact that my students are my first priority, and I demonstrate a passion for my craft, knowledge of my subject area and a willingness to engage in a lifelong learning.

I respect my power as an educator and have created a learning environment that is physically and emotionally safe and supportive to my students at both Lincoln Elementary and Thomas Jefferson middle school.

I try to encourage my students to take risks and blaze their own trails to discover and embrace knowledge. I cultivate creativity by allowing my students to express themselves freely and without judgment. I try to reflect on my daily performance as a teacher and try to be an active learner in my own classroom and in professional contexts. I stay current by trying new techniques adapting and refining my methods, and creating multimedia arena that is innovative, integrated, and proactive.

I strive to be a positive example to my students by displaying respect to the community that I work in, having a strong work ethic, moral courage, and integrity of character.

I expect from myself what I expect from my students.

Using a variety of assessment techniques that include authentic assessments, I continually focus on meeting student goals and common core standards as they relate to the lesson.
