Meeting the Social-Emotional Learning Needs of Our Students!
"In the RCS Behavioral Health Department,
we inspire hope and make a difference.
EVERY. SINGLE. ONE."
The Behavioral Health Department is part of the RCS Instructional Support Services Department in Rockingham County Schools. We seek to support the social emotional and behavioral health of students within RCS. In addition, we provide psychological services, behavioral health services, and crisis intervention supports to our students preschool through 12th grade. RCS behavioral health department also leads our school safety and crisis response. RCS seeks to ensure a comprehensive approach to school safety that includes a balance of physical and psychological safety!
The RCS Mental Health Advisory is chaired by the Behavioral Health Department and is made up many stakeholders that collaboratively work with Rockingham County Schools in order to mental health support. It is the mission of the RCS Mental Health Advisory through a collaborative and comprehensive approach between Rockingham County Schools and community mental health providers, to ensure access to a full continuum of high-quality and well-coordinated mental health services for our students (RCS Mental Health Advisory Council, 2018).
