The agriculture department at Rockingham County High School strives to educate our students and community about agriculture by having a well around agriculture program that follows the 3 circle model below.
Rockingham County High School has two agriculture teachers; Mrs Apple and Mrs Webster. They teach Sustainable agriculture, Animal Science, Agriculture Mechanics and Horticulture. These teachers also lead the FFA organization for agriculture students.
In 2020 things were slowing starting to grow in the agriculture department an officer team was established, several events were planned and the word started to spread about the agriculture program. Now our chapter is thriving; we have monthly meetings and events for our members.
FFA is known for its Premier Leadership, Personal Growth and Career Success that students gain by being involved with with the almost 100 year old organization. We strive to encourage our members to set high goals for themselves within the FFA. Students currently or previously enrolled in agriculture courses are all encouraged to become FFA members.
