The Conference Wide Committee on Ministry is an elected committee of the Conference made up of clergy and lay people from across the conference that accompanies those who feel called to the ministry, authorizes ministers, provides supportive oversight to authorized ministers, maintains standards for authorized ministers, and ensures accountable and ethical conduct, practices and relationships for authorized ministers.
The CWCOM is divided into three subcommittees, each relating to different steps on one journey in ministry.
The Formation and Authorization Subcommittee (FAS) relates to those seeking to become a UCC minister or for churches seeking to affiliate with the UCC.
The Supportive Oversight Subcommittee (SOS) relates to those who already have standing in the UCC and facilitates transfers of standing, 3-way and 4-way covenants, sets Standing Requirements for Authorized Ministers, conducts periodic Reviews and SItuational Supports.
The Accountability Subcommittee (ACS) oversees the two processes of accountability for authorized ministers in the UCC, the Annual Information Review and Fitness Reviews.
