Welcome to CPD Day

Dear Colleagues, 

Welcome back - I hope you have had a brilliant summer.  For our new colleagues - welcome to RMS.  

This is our CPD website for the  September CPD days.  Hopefully this site with outline the activities going on during these two invaluable days.  

Above is an infographic of our CPD priorities which support our school improvement plan and you can see from the objects of today the sections in red which support each of these priorities.  

Our aims:  

• Remind staff of our teaching and learning priorities and our key themes (day 1) - This includes precise learning, adaptive teaching and AFL

• Introduce Coaching to all staff to support with improving performance (day 1)

• Share information about our new Year 7 students (day 1) - This will include information on how to adapt lessons if needed for specific students.  

• Remind staff of the maximising success techniques in order to ensure these skills are developed and imbedded in the classroom (day 2).  

The rest of day 2 is focused on briefings for the year ahead:  

• Safeguarding for all

• Character education

• Reading - How can you support reading by adaptive teaching? 

• Year Team

• PDL

• Department time wiht a focus on Question Level Analysis and curriculum change as a consequence of the summer results.  

Our focus on mental health and well being continues with well being activities for staff.  

We hope that you have really productive and worthwhile day.
