Hello, I'm Mrs. Byrley! This is my 7th year teaching elementary orchestra in Red Lion, and I teach string instruments to students in grades 3-6 in all 6 elementary schools. As a student, I went to Red Lion myself and started playing violin in 3rd grade at Pleasant View.  I switched to cello in 4th grade, and am still playing cello today!

My favorite part about teaching orchestra is watching my students grow! From the very beginning, we are learning the basics of just picking up the instrument or even remembering what it's called. By the end of the school year after about 20 or so lessons, students are playing music as an ensemble. Students don't always recognize the progress, but to take a step back and realize all they learn in the first few years of playing is a remarkable experience!
