Personal Finance Class has been suspended for the May graduates of the class of 2020. If you are a senior graduating this May, you no longer need to complete the Personal Finance Class.

Financial Aid

Did you complete your FAFSA (Free application for federal student aid)? If not, you can still submit and be eligible for two years free at a California Community College, or qualify for money at eligible technical and private schools. Start your application here.

Deadlines: Federal-Online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA^®) forms must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time (CT), June 30, 2020. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT, September 12, 2020. State-For additional community college Cal Grants: Sept. 2, 2020 (date postmarked). Cal Grant-March 2nd deadline has already passed.

California Dream Act If you’re a noncitizen without a Social Security card or had one issued through the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, you should fill out the California Dream Act Application found at caldreamact.org. You don’t need to fill out a FAFSA form to be eligible for California student financial aid. Contact the California Student Aid Commission (csac.ca.gov) for more information. Additional forms might be required.

Continue to check your college accounts and emails

If you applied to a college this fall or if you have already been accepted to a college you must continue to check your college accounts and emails daily! If you miss a deadline because you did not check, you may miss out on money or have your acceptance revoked.

Junior and Sophomore News

The Class of 2021 Personal Finance Course will relaunch on Friday, May 1st. The process for students to take the final assessment is below:

• Juniors who finish the content course will be prompted to complete a google form
• Once the form is submitted, I am notified and enroll them in the final assessment course within 48 hours
• I send an email to notify students they are enrolled
• There is no password on the final assessment and it is set to be taken as many times as needed until students pass

PSAT Scores-Don't forget to review your PSAT/NMSQT scores. Students received an email with instructions to create a College Board account, and an access code to view your scores.
