Mission Statement "The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect."
IB IS FOR EVERYONE. "This is the most prestigious academic program for high school students because it focuses on the development of personal values as well as on academics."
CURRICULAR ADVANTAGE. "I loved the idea of small class sizes and the focus on both research and writing. They all just seemed really appealing to me. [...] When I started taking AP classes, I realized that the fast curriculum and fast pace weren't really meant for me, and I wanted to be able to indulge in all topics equally. In IB, I'm a more well-rounded student."
IB VERSUS AP. "IB classes are more centered around student research and understanding the information while AP classes are more centered on lectures and memorization."
TRANSITION FEARS. "Initially, I was fearful. [...However,] it's very spread out. You're not getting a whole lot of work in a single week. It teaches you about time management and how to effectively study. "
INDEPENDENCE & CURIOSITY. "Contrary to standard or AP classes, the IB program fosters students who have the desire to learn rather than only taking classes for college credits. These classes have genuinely had an impact on the way that I learn and my growth as a student."
