General Information

DIRECTOR CHECK IN

Registration will be located in the Faculty Lounge (see map connected to the cafeteria).  Upon checking in, if you have not yet received your NCBA winter staff badges for the year, they will be available at registration.  Wrist bands for your performers will also be available.  .  Please give the wrist bands to performers only.  Please fill out the attached form for student numbers and parking planning.

WARM UP AREA

There will be a designated warm up area for the percussion and guard units should you choose to use it.  The warm up area will be located in the CAFETERIA (see school map).  You will find your warm up time on the competition schedule.

You will NOT be allowed to set up your equipment for warming up near your designated parking area. Space is limited so please be respectful to other groups in terms of set up.  You will not have room near your designated parking to set up floors.  Please do not block parking for other groups with your floors.  If a parking attending asks you to move your equipment to allow other groups to park.  Please be respectful and comply with the request.      We will be allowing equipment trailers ONLY into the front parking lot.  Busses and transportation vehicles will be parked out on Titan drive by our parking volunteers.  Groups assigned to the back lot will have their busses parked with the equipment.  It will be very tight with our current construction on campus.

SILENT ZONE

The silent zone will be indicated inside the quad.  You are welcome to warm up near your trailers/buses, in the parking lots, on the outside of the open quad, and on the soccer fields.

RESTROOM AND LOCKER ROOM FACILITIES

We will have ample access to facilities during the competition. We will have access to the locker rooms for changing purposes; however you will need to accompany your groups to the locker rooms for supervision.  We will have parents assigned to the outsides of the locker room facilities to allow your group access.  With that being said, we do advise that your groups arrive in performance attire.

ANNOUNCER’S SHEETS

Announcer sheets will be produced from the NCBA registrations. Announcer Link

FOOD

We will be providing a snack bar for spectators and performers.  The snack bar will be located inside the gym foyer.  PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR GROUPS TO SUPPORT OUR SNACK BAR.

DIRECTOR / STAFF LOUNGE

The director / staff lounge will be located in the teacher’s lounge (see school map).  You must have a staff Badge to enter the director / staff lounge.  Please - no students.

SHOW ENTRANCE

Spectators are to use the north foyer entrance.  Please see map.

Performers are to use the south doors for both entrance and exit.  Staff will be on hand to help with flow.  Please allow staff to move your groups through to avoid traffic jams.

Only directors and staff with a badge, performing students, or volunteers who have paid for a wristband will be permitted through the performer's entrance.  Because hosting this competition is a fundraiser, a "no wristband/badge, no entrance" will be strictly enforced at the performer's entrance.  Spectators can purchase wristbands for $10.00 and enter through the spectator entrance

AREA FOR FOLDING FLOORS

You will have access to the small gym for folding your floors after your group competes.  Please make sure to push all of the pit into the overhang between cafeteria and small gym and only take floor into small gym. Please be efficient with your time as not to keep other groups from having access to the gym.  Instructors please do not use this time to talk to your group about the show.

SOUND CHECK

NCBA now requires all music for Winter Guard and Drum Major performances to be uploaded electronically.  Show hosts will be given access to the uploads for the units registered for their show.  We will have an internet accessible computer that can connect to the sound system.  In the case of an emergency, we  have the ability to hook up to a cell phone, iPod, or MP3 player.

Color guards, you may perform a sound check before the competition begins (9:00 am).  Sound checks must be completed between 8:00 am - 8:45 am.
