Introduction
Introduction
Riverside Unified School District in partnership with the University of California, Riverside (UCR) has been awarded a grant through California Air Resources Board (CARB). This grant is one that allows students and teachers from North High School and Abraham Lincoln High School to integrate air quality lessons and hands on experiences with the support of UCR researchers and Community Scientists. Our RUSD students are working hard along side their teachers and UCR partners in measuring and learning about air quality through field projects. Students have been able to start working on solutions and share their findings during the Air Quality Symposium. This school year, the students are ready to get back on track and are excited to share their new findings at this year's symposium.
Why CARB?
The CARB grant provides our RUSD students the opportunity to work along side UCR researchers and community scientists in learning about the air quality here in Riverside. Students are able to access air quality measuring tools, learn about collecting data that can inform next steps, and develop possible solutions to improve air quality in our community.
