What is AVID?
Our programis intended to support underrepresented students in the middle to succeed in a rigorous, college preparatory path that leads them to eligibility and acceptance in a four-year college, and compete in a global society.
COMPUTER SCIENCE
To help prepare our students for the world of tomtomorrow they will learn the basics of coding, robotics, creating apps and more.
SPANISH
Students will learn basic vocabulary in Spanish such as greetings, colors, numbers, calendar items, weather, likes and dislikes, etc. In addition, it exposes students to Spanish grammar such as articles, adjectives, basic sentence structure, and how to conjugate verbs in the past tense. Students learn basic language patterns and conversational phrases
In art the instructor will encourage self-expression and creativity and can build confidence as well as a sense of individual identity, all while teaching students new skill and strengthening existing ones.
