At RVS, everything we do lives within Google Classroom. For this reason, it is very important that each student understands how to use Google Classroom for their academic success.
This is where your teacher will post important announcements about the class.
On this page you can also find the Google Meet link and upcoming assignments for that week.
This is where you can find EVERYTHING important to succeeding in class including assignments, assessments, class information, and Google Meet recordings.
All things posted here are organized by topic. Each topic is one week in the semester, so you know exactly where to find assignments by date. This will help with keeping track of deadlines and due dates.
If you click the "View your work" button at the top, you can see a summary of all your assignments (assigned, returned, & missing) as well as the grades you received on them.
The "Class Drive Folder" button will take you to a folder within your Google Drive where you can find all of the work you have completed for that class in one place. This is where you can make copies to save your hard work for the future!
On this page you can find your teacher's email address as well as your classmates by clicking on the envelope.
You may use this to help you better get to know the people you share your classroom with.
On the left hand panel, you can find a link to take you to a list of your classes.
Below that, you will also find a link to a calendar within Google Classroom. This link will show you all of your assignments in all your classes by week. This can be very helpful when trying to keep track of assignments in multiple classes.
The to-do list can help you see what assignments need to be finished. It will show you due dates for assignments across classes or you can view your to-do list for each class by choosing each class from the drop-down menu. You can also quickly see which assignments are missing and which are completed by choosing from the menu.
A teacher or school administrator can invite a guardian to receive email summaries about their student’s work in class. To get summaries, the student must use Classroom with a Google Workspace account (looks like student_name@school.edu). Email summaries do not include grades.
Missing work—Work not turned in when the summary was sent.
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.
Guardians who sign up for email summaries can’t see the Stream, Classwork, People, or Grades pages in Classroom.
A teacher or admin sends an invitation to a guardian.
After a guardian accepts the invitation, they choose when to get email summaries for each of their students.
Tip: All guardians are added to BCC when an email is sent to all guardians.
Guardians can get emails daily or weekly and can unsubscribe at any time.
Guardians won’t get an email summary if:
There's no activity to report for the given time period.
All their student’s teachers turned off notifications for their classes.
They accepted the invitation but chose not to get any summaries.
They aren't connected to any student in Classroom.
