The first step to success is attending, being active in class and completing assignments as they are assigned.
If you have fallen behind and need to catch up, it will require extra work on your part. This means coming to office hours, completing late assignments and showing me effort and care for your work.
It is also important to stay on top of current assignments. If you spend some time working on past assignments but continue falling behind on current ones, it will not help your grade recover. Stay dedicated to completing assignments on time so that you don't continue to fall further behind.
I regularly update Aeries so that your grade reflects your current status in my class. If you do not have access to Aeries, you or your parent/guardian should call the school at (951) 778-5300 to get assistance with logging in.
In addition, because everything we do is within Google Classroom, you can always refer back to our Google Classroom to see what work you have and haven't submitted.
Assessments (40%) and projects/activities (40%) carry the most weight in your grade. These are assignments you should prioritize.
These are also assignments that can be improved on - meaning that if you got a score you are not happy with, you can come to office hours, get some feedback, make some changes, and resubmit for regrading.
I have office hours every school day.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 3:00 - 3:30 PM.
Wednesday - 9:20 - 11:20 AM.
Every Monday morning, I grade late work from the week before.
For example, on the Monday morning of Week 13, I grade late work from week 12.
After I have finished grading late work from that week, I change the topic title on Google Classroom to "Closed to make-up work" so that you know which weeks are open for late work and which are not.
Everything is posted on our Google Classroom, including our class recordings. Therefore, if you are absent, you should first watch the recording, attempt to complete the work, and come by office hours if you need more help after that.
If your Chromebook or your Wifi are not working as they should, it should be your top priority to call the school (951) 778-5300 to schedule an appointment to pick up a new Chromebook/Wifi Hotspot.
