The ML King Wolves delivered another outstanding team performance at the Raincross Meet—an event designed to bring together all Riverside schools and crown city champions across every event. In a true display of depth, talent, and competitive fire, the Wolves walked away with major victories on the track and in the field.
The meet kicked off with a bang as both the girls’ and boys’ 4x100m relay squads captured city titles. The girls set the tone with a blistering 48.63, while the boys followed up with a smooth 43.26, solidifying King’s relay dominance early.
Natalie Drewitz earned back-to-back city titles in the girls’ 1600m, pacing the field with strength and control. Jude Abu Ghzaleh followed with a gritty 3rd-place finish. In the boys’ 1600m, Alex Wesolowski and Logan Carlson ran strong to claim 2nd and 3rd, respectively, securing valuable points.
Hurdle dominance continued with Zaina Vaughn sprinting to a win in the 100m hurdles. Abigail Jones also grabbed 2nd in a close finish in the 300m hurdles for her season debut.
In the 400m, Aliyah Rudolph clocked 59.79 to take the crown, with teammate Amaya Lochard just behind in 2nd. Mason Colwell battled his way to a solid 3rd in the boys’ race.
The Wolves showed sprint depth with Aaliyah Richardson claiming 2nd in the girls’ 100m and Aniyah Sega coming in 4th for a medal of her own. On the boys’ side, Cayden Tillman stormed through the finish to take 1st, with Benjamin Major just a step behind in 2nd.
In the girls’ 800m, Gracie Guzzetta defended her title as Raincross Champion, winning back-to-back years, while Jordyn Ramirez locked in 3rd. The 200m continued to shine for the Wolves as Amaya Lochard and Aliyah Rudolph took 1st and 2nd in the girls’ race. On the boys’ side, Cayden Tillman finished 2nd and Blake Huyett rounded out the top three.
In the long-distance events, Elizabeth Jacklin and Bradley Quezada both secured the city titles after a strong controlled performance on the day.
The field events were just as stacked with Wolf excellence. In the girls’ long jump, Vanessa Hope took 2nd and Paige Davis followed in 3rd. Hope added another 2nd in the triple jump with Imani Barfield in 3rd. On the boys’ side, Shamar Graham claimed the city title in the triple jump, while Colton Zeen followed in 3rd. Brian Robinson added a 3rd in the long jump.
In the high jump, Neyla Borluca earned another win with a strong clearance, and Allison Kastle followed up with 3rd. Sayuri Albrecht added a 2nd in the girls’ pole vault, while Jemeni Mckee brought home the win for the boys.
The throws were dominated by King. Bailey Mann earned a 2nd in the girls’ shot put and came back strong to win the girls’ discus. On the boys’ side, Justin Coute and Daniel Chavez went 1–2 in the shot put, and Andrew Dixon threw his way to the city title in the discus.
With performances like these across every event group, the Wolves proved they are the class of Riverside. The team walks away from Raincross with multiple champions and a strong sense of momentum heading into the next stretch of the season.
