Middle School Scholarship Opportunities

1. Unless stated, applications are completed online.

2. Remember to apply to as many scholarships as possible. There is no such thing as too many. Think of this as a part time job.

3. Most applications require a letter of recommendation. Make sure you complete a LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION PACKET / Brag Sheet and give it to your counselor/teacher two weeks prior to when you need the letter back.

4. Look for “eligibility” or “requirements” on the web page or the scholarship application. Read the scholarship and organization description. Read the entire scholarship application. Then, and only then, determine if you qualify.

5. Application Basics:

   • Type or very neatly print on the application

   • Always type your essay and other required documents

   •  Avoid colored fonts

   • Presentation is everything

   • Postmark vs. Deadline – apply on time

7. Unless otherwise told… Use a 9x12 envelope for mailing and include a resume with your application

8. Remember when filling out scholarships make sure you double check that every piece of information they are requesting gets included in your application before submitting. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

*If you have any questions, please see your School Counselor.

RUSD does not specifcally support or endorse any particular scholarship.  It is up to the student/family to review the information before applying.  All students under the age of 18 should consult with their parent/guardian before submitting anything online or via mail. This list is possible suggestions based on collaboration with community members, educational staff and internet resources.
