Learn the basics of acting through short skits and scenes, monologues, and puppet shows! You’ll also learn critical teamwork and leadership skills, as well as build your confidence!
Students must take 1/2 first or audition into the class. Students will dive deeper into the basics of theatre and acting. Students will do additional performances, and can tailor their experience toward which skills they want to improve.
IB Theatre is a theatre class that dives deep into all aspects of theatre: acting, directing, creating, tech, and audience. Students participate in multiple projects for the IB portfolio that follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. This class is a 5-point class and is test-optional as Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). IB Theatre students end the year off with a student-ran IB Show to showcase all the skills they have learned throughout the year!

Students learn about the basic technical aspects of theatre including; build, lights, sound, costumes, make-up, etc. They will also help build and strike sets for Harlequin productions!
The next step after Tech Theatre 1/2! Students will dive deeper into the basics of Technical theatre. Students will also be able to work on additional projects geared toward their areas of interest!
Students who act in the Fall Play and/or Spring Musical have the option of being added to a repertory theatre class and will be awarded 1 semester's worth of VAPA Credit per show.
