Our construction team is working diligently. In spite of some rain in previous weeks, they continue pushing forward. Assistant Director of our Facilities and Planning Department, Rene Castro Jr, meets weekly with Principal Torres to provide an update and gather input when necessary. Mr. Castro also meets with the Tilden-Coil Constructors, the Construction Management Team & GO Architects to go over all factors of the project construction status. This includes job walks and the review of the current schedule, budget, submittals, requests for information, allowance requests, changes, unforeseen conditions, inspection requirements, safety concerns and the Division of State Architect (DSA) required documentation & approvals. Below are pictures that demonstrate the progress on the construction of the future Casa Blanca Elementary School.

School Mascot
Thank you to our Casa Blanca community members that completed the school mascot survey. The phoenix was the clear winner! It is clear that the message of rebirth, rising from ashes, and resilience resonated with the community. We will be gathering input from our Board Members before submitting the original phoenix logo for any final modifications and/or enhancements.
School Brochure

There is a full commitment from RUSD leadership in bringing innovative STEM-integrated instructional practices to Casa Blanca Elementary School. Casa Blanca Elementary School will have three learning labs along with three open terraces learning spaces that will be an optimal learning environment for hands-on collaborative learning for students. There will be an intentional focus on students being given the opportunity to apply their learned knowledge to real-life scenarios through project based learning (PBL). Principal Torres is also developing community partnerships with institutions such as Collins Aerospace, Bourns, Phenix Technology, and Cal Baptist University with the plan of having their expertise and presence at the site with students and staff to assist in the real-life application of the students’ learned knowledge. For further details, please take a look at the board presentation that Principal Torres presented on March 14, 2024.
