This is the RBC User Guide for rowers. It contains instructions for using iCrew for rowing activities such as reserving a boat, checking out (launching) a boat, checking in (landing) a boat, and reporting damage and incidents.
This is not the User Guide for coaches and captains.
This section provides details and screenshots for reserving a shell. Please be aware that iCrew will auto-cancel your reservation if you do not check the boat out within 15 minutes of the start of your reservation.
From your Dashboard, select the 'Member Reservations' tile.
From the 'Your Menu' dropdown select 'Reserve a Shell..."
You should be on the 'Make Reservation' page. On this page you will select the date, start time, and duration, then click Next.
Select the shell you wish to reserve and click 'Next'
Note: PLEASE only select shells for which you are cleared. As we continue to collect captains tested personnel we will ensure that people have the appropriate permissions but at initial release of iCrew we do not yet have that information.
The next screen is an oar reservation page. This is not necessary at RBC, so jut click 'Next'.
Now you can click 'Make Reservation'. Note, if you are real-time reserving a shell and intend to take it out right away, iCrew provides an option to do that. (This is something that would be done if you reserve the shell at the club and plan to take it out straight away.)
iCrew uses different terminology than the Fleetwatch system did. In iCrew you Check Out (Launch) and Check In (Land) your shell. This section provides details and screenshots for this part of the process.
When you log into iCrew and your reservation time is approaching, iCrew will prompt you to go to its online logbook to check out the shell reserved.
You do not have to do this, but select 'Yes' if you would like to.
The online logbook, otherwise known as the On-the-Water log is where you check out and check in your reserved shell.
To get to the On-the-Water log, select 'Today @ Riverside Boat Club' tile in your dashboard.
Click the 'Today's On-the-Water Log' button.
Input thea accurate time and select the Check out button and your reserved shell will be checked out to row.
After you click the 'Check Out' button, the background will turn this turquoise color which indicates the shell has been checked out.
Upon return, input the accurate time of return, your kilometers rowed, and hit the Check in button.
At this point your reservation is complete and the screen shows a charcoal gray color.
You will have noticed on the On-the-Water log screens for Check Out, Check In, and Finalization that there are buttons to log incidents and/or damages. Please be sure to use these in the event of any incident to record all of the details. If the shell is not rowable due to damage, be sure to place a physical 'No Row' sign on the shell per club policy. Additionally be sure to continue to use the paper incident/damage log until further notice.
