Event Description: Bike Ride to Koch Woodlands
Gather your friends and family for an evening bike ride and get a private tour of one of our natural areas that has really flourished due to our conservation efforts - Koch Woodlands in Brown Deer! We will be utilizing the Oak Leaf Trail system and will have 2 groups starting at 2 separate locations:
Option #1: Ride your bike from Turtle Park (adjacent to River Revitalization Foundation) to Koch Woodlands. ~20 miles round trip (roughly one hour of biking one way) This group will meet at 3:30pm, leave by 4:00pm, and arrive at Koch Woodlands around 5:00pm.
Option #2: Ride your bike from Maslowski Park in Glendale to Koch Woodlands. ~10 miles round trip (roughly 30 minutes of biking one way) This group will meet at 4:00pm, leave by 4:30pm, and arrive at Koch Woodlands around 5:00pm.
After the Koch Woodlands tour, we will all bike to the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W Lexington Blvd, Glendale, WI 53217) for a cold beverage to end the evening! (optional)

Lincoln Creek Bike and Hike Part 2
Explore Lincoln Creek. This is the second ride in the three part series (rescheduled due to rain). We'll meet at HAVENWOODS State Forest and follow the creek to 35th and Congress where we'll hike and see the important role wetlands and retention ponds play in watershed ecology.

Event Description: Morning Paddle in the Milwaukee River Estuary with Milwaukee Kayak Company
Join RRF and the Milwaukee Kayak Company for a morning paddle in the Milwaukee River Estuary! We will paddle from Kiwanis Landing to downtown and back (about 2 hours of paddling)
We will have 12 kayaks for participants to borrow - Registration required. Check-in will take place around 9:45am
If you'd like to paddle with us and bring your own kayak/canoe feel free to do so! Registration also required. Please plan to bring your own boats to launch around 10:30am so we can stagger the launch times
Optional - Hang out in Kiwanis Landing afterwards for a picnic after the paddle (bring your own lunch)

Event Description: Forest Bathing Walk Led By Certified Guide: Bill Hebbert
Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese meditative form of nature therapy that has been scientifically shown to benefit mental and physical health. The term translates to “taking in the forest atmosphere”. Forest bathing is about being connected with nature. It involves immersing all your senses in a natural environment - frequently but not always a forested area - and experiencing the mindful Pleasure of Presence. The format involves structured periods of slow leisurely walking, sitting, standing, and sharing, all the while connecting with nature in a variety of ways through a series of experiential “invitations." When forest bathing, we take pleasure and delight in experiencing the natural world through our senses and explore our relationship with it through observation, imagination, and feeling.

Event Description: Explore the Milwaukee River Greenway with Eddee Daniel: A Virtual Tour
For the past year Eddee Daniel has served as Artist in Residence in the Milwaukee River Greenway for River Revitalization Foundation as part of a program called ARTservancy. In this Zoom presentation Eddee will take you on a virtual tour of the Greenway and share his beautiful photography of this special place. The Milwaukee River Greenway is a prime example of urban wilderness, a seemingly remote spot in the middle of the city. At over 800 acres, it is larger than New York’s Central Park, with protections intended to maintain a natural character despite its proximity to its urban surroundings.
Eddee Daniel is a former art and photography teacher, a board member of Preserve Our Parks, and author of “Urban Wilderness: Exploring a Metropolitan Watershed.” He also curates a project for Preserve Our Parks called A Wealth of Nature: www.awealthofnature.org.

We will walk through or past several named parks, including Riverside, Hubbard and Cambridge Woods. Our tour will begin at one of Milwaukee's newest parks, the Rotary Centennial Arboretum. We can explore the "tunnel to nowhere" along the way.
Eddee Daniel is a former art and photography teacher, a board member of Preserve Our Parks, and currently serves as Artist in Residence for River Revitalization Foundation. During the hike Eddee give tips on how to improve your photographic skills, share his experience as an artist in residence in the Greenway, and also the project he curates, called A Wealth of Nature: www.awealthofnature.org.
You may bring any kind of camera, including a cell phone, or no camera at all.
The hike, while not strenuous, will take us on uneven ground and may be muddy, depending on conditions. Dress appropriately and please wear a mask.

Event Description: Nature Walk of Lincoln Park
Join Milwaukee County Parks Natural Areas staff for a nature walk at Lincoln Park on Thursday July 29th from 10:00am to 12:00pm as part of the Milwaukee Greenway Celebration. We’ll take a stroll along the river to enjoy the summer wildflowers, including mountain mint, obedient plant, culver’s root, blue vervain, and monkey flower. We’ll also take our time to admire bumble bees, trees, birds, and anything else that catches our eye.
Meet in the pavilion parking lot. Please wear closed toe shoes and pants as we may veer off trail to get a closer look at some of the plants and wildlife. Bring a water bottle and camera if you’d like to snap some photos for later.
